  • Mission Statement:

    Participants in Denver Gap Year will live in a vibrant community house, serve local non-profit organizations and engage in life-changing discipleship classes. Adventurous excursions into the Rocky Mountains will provide bonding experiences, opportunities to be challenged and space for contemplation. International travel to an orphanage in the Philippines and G42 Leadership Academy in Spain will broaden participants worldview and deepen their faith. And living in the heart of Denver will allow for a chance to experience the opportunities and needs of communities within an urban setting.

- 2 week trip to the Philippines at the end of the first semester.
- 2 week trip to the southern coast of Spain to end the 2nd semester.
- Planned adventure trips such as skydiving, whitewater rafting and hiking a 14er will be done once a month are a part of the cost of the program.

Program Learning Outcomes


  • Understand your identity better (who you are) and know how that connects to your purpose (what you do).
  • Expand and deepen understanding of Christian faith via the classroom setting and personal discipleship.
  • Learn about injustice in the world and how to combat it both inside the he classroom setting from industry experts and by serving in the real world.
  • Our community house led by trained staff teaches participants how to work through conflict, build healthy relationships and share a living space with others.
  • Our international trips are designed to broaden participants worldview and show how to serve in an international context.
  • Our adventure excursions teach participants wilderness skills, connection to nature and how much they are capable of.
  • How to serve and partner well with local nonprofits. This includes how to communicate with a nonprofit partner, accept feedback and offer the kind of help that makes a difference.
  • Life skills including cooking, laundry, car maintenance and finances.
  • Better understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses via tools such as Myers Briggs, Enneagram and Strengthsfinders.
  • A final project completed by each participants that sums up the insights they have gained into their personality, faith, strengths, passions and road map for their 20's.

- Leadership development with a specific focus on leading through serving, empowerment, personal strengths and importance of personal character.

- Connection to our network of peers and mentors around the United States after completion of program.

Staff Training and Certification

- All staff have participated in a 11 country in 11 month trip called The World Race.
- Most of the staff has lived/worked in different countries around the world.
- An eagle scout with wilderness experience leads our adventure trips.
- Our visiting teachers represent a wide array of fields including ministry, business, the arts, nonprofits and entrepreneurship.
