  • Mission Statement:

    Youth International's mission is to open the doors for young adults to discover a broader perspective on the world while developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their place within the world. Developing more personally and socially aware future leaders, Youth International also hopes to take small steps toward bridging the gap between people of different nations and making the world a better, more peaceful place.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • 6. Complete an average of 175 hours of volunteer work in multiple communities.
  • 7. Learn hands-on teaching and construction skills through service learning.
  • 8. Develop self-management skills during free-time activities.
  • 9. Gain self-confidence and direction as you navigate through international cultures.
  • 10. Enhance orientation toward lifelong learning on your journey to becoming a global citizen.

Youth International accepts payment from 529 Funds and AmeriCorps Education Awards.

Additional college credit options are available through affiliation with Western State Colorado University.

Staff Training and Certification

All team leaders are trained in person in Colorado prior to the beginning of each program. Team leader training includes experiential learning outcomes, team building, health and safety, and emergency protocols. Team leaders are certified in Standard First Aid and Adult CPR or Wilderness First Responder.
