Discover Year's calendar and schedule are subject to change in response to COVID-19, as well as to DY student/staff feedback.
If it remains unreealistic for people to find work as of September (due to prolonged physical distancing) we will waive this requirement for the period that physical distancing is in place. We will introduce a second community service project that the students can focus on, to help them build important interpersonal and project management skills.
While the work aspect of the program is without a doubt an important part of our students' development, the sense of community, self-awareness and communication skills (among others) that our students develop through our workshops and discussions will be powerful forces in helping them make the most of this unique situation. They will also have a strong backing to bring with them in their eventual job search.
