Each Live - in Volunteer receives approximately 3 hours break on 4 days, 1 day off (not always on Fridays, arranged by houseparent). During weekdays children work on self help skills such as dressing, eating and cleaning their space in the early morning, then they attend our school for academic and functional skills, at 12:30 everyone returns for lunch to their respective houses. In the afternoon academic activities and/ or prevocational activities continue. In the afternoon children will have a snack, go for walks and engage in other mainly outdoor activities from which they return around 5:30 PM for personal hygiene, supper and evening activities such as singing. Children go to bed around 8:30. Each Live - In Volunteer is expected to accompany the children throughout the day and help them unfold their potential and reach maximum independence while learning to socially integrate within the community. Each Live - In Volunteer is asked to cover one night watch a week, which means they can sleep but are responsible to attend to students' needs should they occur during the night.
